Little runaway girl from Lithuanian village now scavenges Paris with an old bridesmaid’s dress. She calls herself Marla cause she‘s as sick and as healthy as the later. Reality being rather subjective, Marla finds photography as just a filthy lie seen through her deranged lens. In a way her work is so powerful because we are all liars and we are all disturbed by the obvious and bold Marla’s acceptation of the fact: „Her lie reflected my lie. Suddenly, I felt nothing. I couldn’t cry, so once again I couldn’t sleep.” At the same time this big tourist understands art and photography as a disease of our society but she neglects all the primitive stereotypes associated with sicknesses and enjoys pretending to have health issues. Narator: “This chick Marla Singer did not have testicular cancer. She was a liar. She had no diseases at all. I had seen her at “Free and Clear”, my blood parasite group Thursdays. Then at “Hope”, my bi-monthly sickle cell circle. And again at “Seize the Day”, my tuberculosis Friday night. Marla…the big tourist. Her lie reflected my lie. Suddenly, I felt nothing. I couldn’t cry, so once again I couldn’t sleep.„
She works with many well known brands, magazines and advertising agencies such as Vadafone, Swedbank, Teliasonera, L’Officiel, TBWA etc.
